The Senior Manager / Research Manager / Engineering Manager at Swift plays a central role in leading projects, shaping client engagements, and ensuring high-quality delivery across our service areas. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with consulting experience who enjoys managing multidisciplinary projects, engaging directly with clients, and helping create actionable guidance and trusted results.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Delivery
- Lead and manage consulting engagements from scoping through delivery, ensuring deliverables are on time, well-structured, and aligned with client needs.
- Oversee workstreams, coordinate project teams, and guide research, analysis, and reporting.
- Support project budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Client Engagement
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client teams on assigned projects.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly and confidently to clients.
- Create clear, structured reports.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct rigorous research, analysis and data synthesis on a variety of clean energy topics including electrification, efficiency, consumer behavior, demand flexibility, and more.
- Translate complex information into concise, client-ready insights and actionable recommendations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends, policy developments, and best practices in the power sector.
Business Development
- Contribute to the development of internal tools, templates, and knowledge repositories.
- Contribute to proposal development and scopes of work.
- Support market and opportunity scans to inform Swift’s growth.
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of experience in consulting, energy efficiency, policy, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage client engagements.
- Strong analytical and writing skills, with a track record of producing clear, structured deliverables.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a small, evolving firm.
- Experience working with utilities, public agencies, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in one or more of Swift’s core practice areas.
- Familiarity with power sector, energy policy, or energy-related R&D initiatives.
- Prior consulting experience with cross-functional teams.

Senior Researcher / Senior Engineer / Senior Analyst
The Senior Researcher / Senior Engineer / Senior Analyst at Swift plays an important role in executing and supporting research and development, strategy, and evaluation efforts for the clean energy transition. This position is ideal for a curious, collaborative professional who thrives on gathering and making sense of information, coordinating moving pieces, and helping innovative teams and projects stay on track.

Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
- Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative applied research tasks on a variety of clean energy topics including electrification, efficiency, consumer behavior, demand flexibility, and more.
- Collect and analyze data from a variety of sources, including energy use data (AMI, metering, etc.), secondary literature, surveys and interviews in support of research project goals.
- Synthesize data and information into research findings in clear, structured summaries for project teams and clients.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment while growing expertise across Swift’s core research methods and subject areas; support the Research Manager and project leads in developing and executing research plans,
- Actively develop deeper research skills across qualitative and quantitative methods for primary and secondary research, creating opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and growing Swift’s impact.
Project Coordination
- Provide organizational and logistical support on project teams, including with Swift’s partners, keeping work moving forward across multiple concurrent projects.
- Track tasks, timelines, and deliverables to help keep projects on schedule and budget.
Outreach & Participant Coordination
- Support outreach and recruitment efforts for surveys, interviews, and focus groups; coordinate with project leads to align recruitment strategies with research objectives.
- Manage research participant relationships, scheduling, and communications to ensure strong response rates.
Communication
- Craft and edit research summaries, reports, and client-facing materials.
- Maintain organized records of data sources, research materials, and analysis outputs.
- Contribute to internal documentation, templates, and knowledge resources.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in research, consulting, evaluation, program coordination, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience designing or administering surveys and/or conducting interviews and/or working with energy use data, performing engineering desk reviews and using technical reference manuals and similar evaluation guidance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Excellent written communication skills; comfortable producing polished, structured documents.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a small, growing firm.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with residential building or energy systems, market actors such as contractors and builders, and/or utility programs is a plus, as well as an area of growth for this role.
- Basic coding or data skills (e.g., SPSS, Qualtrics, Python, or R) to support data processing and analysis.
- Experience supporting outreach efforts for research studies, pilots, or other customer engagement programs.
- Prior experience with utilities, public agencies, or mission-driven organizations.
